Two things I noticed today in michigan that seem to be much more common here than I have seen any other place.
Eggs are sold from wooden stands on the roadside. You put money in a little box and then take your eggs.
Mowed green lawns are huge. Green lawns seemed to be a very important thing for land owners. Related to that, lawn mowing seems to be one of the most common activities in central michigan. It is the most common outdoor activity I observed on my bike ride.

Love the roadside egg stands!! As always, it’s a joy to tag along with you on your journey.
Gotta love those eggers but not easy to carry in your bike
Hope you did not get caught in afternoon showers on your way to Ann Arbor. We here in Michigan could do with a bit less mowing and a few more native plantings. Not sure of your route south but tall ships are in Detroit now through the weekend. Local summer thing.
Gonna make a burger to fly, featuring a mower. Happy travels, hope the Mitten treats you well.
