My day 18 at Teton National Park went off just about as planned. The exceptions will be noted.I took James’ (see earlier post addition) advice: I biked to the exact beach, and went swimming and hiked to hidden falls. Per my wife’s instruction to not hike alone in bear country. I did find a family to hike with.Meet Capt. Jason of the Perry Georgia Police department. His wife, Angela and son and daughter. He was ready to defend me from any bear who might dare to attack us. If a bear did come after us, he would simply yell.Stop police, paws up or I will shoot (you withPepper spray.) Thus I was safe.
However, officer Jason I do have some crimes to confess to.First of all I illegally parked at the summit of the teton pass.
Second I left my apple out on my towel, while I was swimming, which the ranger informed me was a dangerous bear attraction.
The third I have illegally squatted on a reserved campsite. The thing is, except for the apple, i am not repentant of my crimes.Let me explain. I would park in that same exact spot, nuf said.Second, after I had climbed 1100 feet to the top of squirrel mountain. It was eight o’clock before I got into a campsite that I found out was full and it did not have a hiker biker area . I didn’t feel i should bike in the dark to find a camp site with openings. So I figured out my best option, which was go to an empty campsite that was reserved, but no one was there yet.I picked one where it was the 2nd day of the reservation and no one was there so I figured no one would show up. I pitched my tent and of course, five minutes later Jason and Carrie, who had reserved the site, showed up. Lucky for me, they did not need the tent portion of the site as they had a sleeper van.
The next morning, they were out and gone by 6 am. I found out from the chatty people in the campsite next to me that the site I chose, is the most sought after campsite on the grounds. I found out a little later than an elk also squats on this campsite. Thus, I won’t be surprised if there is a warrant out on me in Perry Georgia.

A note about this last picture, it was taken because I mistakenly climbed 1100 ft because my cycle computer route told me to go this way. So I earned this picture of jackson hole valley.
