I have been in idaho the last couple days. It has really surprised me that most of the highways I’ve’been on here have bike trails. My sore tired body has also appreciated these shorter days on the trails.
I know I am very sad at the shooting of Melissa Hortman in Minnesota. The tragedy of it, the horror of it, the violence of it, the loss of a great person. It is tragic how one man can upset the safety and security of an entire state and beyond.
I have been biking solo the past few days and thus have had a lot of time to think. Just speaking for myself, i am not going to change my thinking about people in general. Nor am I going to change how secure I do or don’t feel in the world. On my bike trip, I want to find good and generous people.
I have seen the generosity and the helpfulness of people along the way. For instance, a gentleman who owns the pizza shop scott, and I ate at
In Grand Couly, Washington, decided not to charge us for his pizza free because we just looked like we needed it when we walked in. It is how I want to see people without being too naive.
Today I head back into the mountains for three day where I should land in whitefish, montana and glacier park.

I am thankful that I had a week of biking with my friend, scott. We had a nice meal together on our last day. I will miss him, especially as i’m climbing the tall mountains.

Hi James ! I am so happy to see your post. Last summer, I went to Idaho to bike. I hope you will get a chance to ride the Trail of Coeur de’Alene, and maybe even the Trail of Hiawatha. Both are absolutely beautiful! Ride on, James!
