Day 3

Diablo to Mazama 52 miles 5320 ft climbed

It was one of the most brutal days of biking. It was the second day in my life of biking, a mile. That is i climbed the equivalent of one mile up.

The temperature was in the 90s, so it was extra challenging. In a unique twist, it was the first time in my life that I ever experienced heat stress and made snow angels. Snow never felt so good.

There were no stops for water along the 50 mile route. So I carried four and a half liters of water, and it still wasn’t enough.

Luckily my friend scott begged for water for us .A gentleman who was stopped along the road.
John from washington was our guardian angel today in that he was able to give us water and a cold can of fresca. I had not had a fresca in twenty years but it was the best one.I’ve ever had.

The views were absolutely spectacular and made the entire trip completely worth it.

You may notice that I took a picture of some fresh bigfoot tracks. As it turns out, bigfoot is also a slob.He drinks red bull and leaves the cans out and then kills a deer and leaves it by the side of the road.

It was a good thing I was not traveling with 6 others I would have been illegal.
